No feeling is final
I was recently sitting on a beach in Mexico thinking about waves and emotions and how the ocean can be like our emotions. Sometimes the wind is blowing and the seas are rough, sometimes the sun is shining and the sea is calm. Sometimes we are angry and anxious and feeling out of control. Sometimes we are feeling calm and happy and grateful to be alive.
So which one are you today are you a calm sea https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sIDRqq_ZAPY
or a raging sea?

Regardless of the answer here are a few quotes that can help you when you aren't feeling regulated.
"No feeling is final." Just like a wave has a beginning, a crest, a peak and a fall, our feelings will eventually get back to normal.
"Name it to tame it." "Lable and Rate it." Just saying words like "I'm angry and its a level 5" can help reduce tension and restore stability. Giving it a name can also provide you with a guide book to relaxation and getting back to normal. If your panic is out of control and you're brain isn't ready to solve the problem. You can rate it high and remember to use a coping skill like deep breathing or mindfulness in order to reduce the stress as you wait for the thinking part of your brain to kick back into action.
Anyways, if you're feeling overly emotional think about an ocean and remember that stormy seas eventually return to calm seas.
