Stacey Martinez, LPC, NCC
Stacey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in person-centered therapy to support individuals of all ages through life transitions, depression, anxiety, panic, and trauma. Her practice is informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) which includes building mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills. She also utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) where she identifies negative and positive networks and then uses bilateral stimulation as the catalyst to activate the adaptive learning system in her client. She also practices exposure therapy which involves gradually confronting internal and external feared stimuli in order to break a pattern of avoidance with the goal of reducing symptoms of anxiety and panic.
Stacey received her Master of Counseling in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University after completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at Boise State University. She has been working in mental health since 2011, started interning as a counselor in 2019, and has practiced as a licensed professional counselor since 2021.
Personally, Stacey loves any chance to get creative with crafts and projects. She enjoys spending time with her 2 labrador retrievers, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, and her loving husband.
