Young Adult Mental Health Group

Overview of Group:

  • Will focus on managing co-occurring symptoms of anxiety and depression
  • 12-week program, meet twice a week, 90 minutes
  • July 11, 2023 – September 26, 2023
  • 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Skill-building group on Tuesdays:
    • Communication, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and coping strategies.
    • This is a person-centered program that draws from cognitive behavioral therapy
    • (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
  • Group therapy on Thursdays:
    • Meet with individuals who experience similar concerns in order to
      • give and receive feedback
      • work through concerns
      • process thoughts, feelings, and experiences
  • Facilitated by Stacey Martinez, LPC and Chelsey Smith, BS
  • Expectations:
    • Attend every session
    • Actively participate
    • Be respectful toward others
    • Engage in personal sharing
    • Be open to trying new things
